Our client a mining entity in the DRC seeks a qualified and experienced Mine Surveyor to work on a consultancy basis. The successful candidate will carry out accurate mine surveying to mark working areas in the field and supply dependable information regarding availability of stock levels in order to meet production plans.

Job Description
  1. Setting out and maintaining survey control (including lease boundary pegs) and the maintenance of associated data and plans as required
  2. Setting out survey controls for physical activities in the field to enable the safe and efficient completion of mining and other plans, including the required data management and conversion for these plans
  3. Completing weekly and monthly Heavy Mineral Concentrate (HMC) surveys and produce accurate stock reports to assist with tracking mine production levels
  4. Survey monthly mined volumes and rehabilitation areas and prepare and produce accurate activity reports
  5. Completing and maintaining records of pre-surveys of all areas prior to significant disturbance to enable the development of pre-mining topography
  6. Verifying the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
  7. Ensuring that survey equipment and facilities are appropriately and regularly maintained
  8. Maintaining a drawing file register to ensure that survey plans and associated data (charts, plots, maps, records, and documents) are secured and readily accessible
  9. Develop, communicate, and implement training plans to ensure the competency of all survey staff
  10. Developing, Monitoring and reviewing employees' work levels and reviewing performance against individual work plans, and Providing feedback to reinforce good performance
