Job Description
  1. Produces the mechanical equipment Preventive Maintenance Plan (daily, weekly and annual) for the Mill and maintains it to ensure 90% plant availability. Produces annual electrical maintenance budget for approval by the maintenance Supervisor & Mill Exec and ensures adherence to budget
  2. Installs and maintain all mechanical equipment and trouble shooting in and around the Mill. Inspection and maintenance of all Mill gearboxes. Installation and repairs of chain conveyors, screw conveyors and bucket elevators. Servicing, maintenance of pelleters, crumblers, sifters and coolers. Maintain back-up stock of all mechanical and spares (imported and local) for the plant and ensure NO stock-out
  3. Attends to basic fabrication and welding in and around the Mill. Maintains and services all pneumatic equipment at the Mill. Mechanical maintenance of the boiler to ensure compliance with NSSA and internal performance standards
  4. Contribute to minimum 90% plant availability. Obtain at least 3 quotes from list of approved suppliers for each spares purchase requisition or job/service requisition for approval by the Mill Executive. Complies with Bio-security and hygiene standards as laid down in the procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and company guidelines. Identifies safety hazards and reports to Maintenance Supervisor
  5. Performs any other mechanical repairs and maintenance jobs as well any other duties as and when assigned by superior. Maintains job cards for all jobs performed within the department and checks all jobs done conform to set job quality standardsObserves health and safety standards and ensure consistent implementation by self and subordinates. Trains and develops subordinates as per approved annual training plan
