An opportunity exists for a Degreed Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in transport/logistics to ensure that the fleet for a well established organisation is fit for purpose through review of maintenance, parts and vehicle procurement systems, analysis and interpretation of available data and information generated from the company MIS. The job also entails the cost effective management of all available resources (manpower, financial, information and outsources). An initial selection of CVs has been sent to the client, awaiting feedback. Second interviews are being conducted this week.

Job Description
Ensures that work is carried out in a safe manner by complying with all company safety policies, practices and procedures. Corrects all unsafe activities and reports injuries to General Manager or Human Resources Department.
Attend to and resolve queries and complaints from operations, customers and suppliers in a prompt and professional manner.
Supervises set fuel consumption targets for each vehicle, breakdown pick-ups and breakdown wrecker
Critically analyze available information on vehicles, and explore and recommend the best and most cost effective option for the business in terms of repairs.
Review work orders and job cards to ensure that all actions have been documented according to vehicle service policies and procedures.
Actively drive the work and business of the Vehicle Care Committees for both regions.
Conduct quarterly and annual Performance Appraisal for subordinates.
