Job Description
Ensuring that no driver undertakes continuous driving beyond 4hrs before taking a break.Validate the documentation of the driver and ensure that the truck is driven only by the trained and Lafarge certified driver.Perform an inspection of the truck and confirm that it is fit for the journey. Check for unauthorised goods and passengers. Obtain and disseminate information on route hazards to the driver
Ensuring that all work performed is in compliance with relevant Health, Safety and Environment regulations and guidelines.
Manage the health and safety of all employees and equipment through implementation of Safe Systems of Work and Group Standards and Advisories. Put in place systems to ensure, Risk Assessments are provided prior to all work activities.
Ensuring that action items raised through audits and inspections are carried in accordance with the agreed action plan.
Actively engaging the departmental team in health and safety issues, through VFLs, safety inspections, tool box talks, etc.
Meeting the Health and Safety expectations as required by Management. Complying with the ISO 14001, ISO 18001 in all activities.
Ensuring that adequate measures are implemented to control environmental aspects in works. Putting in place measures to minimise natural resource wastage e.g. oil, water, raw materials, etc.Attending and participating in all Health and Safety training programmes as set out by the Group, Business Unit, Department and in accordance with the Individual Development Plan.
