The Research and Events Officer will assist in providing analysis and advice on political and economic matters in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Republic of Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo. The officer will also be responsible for assisting with Alumni Associations and events, as well as managing public diplomacy events. The Officer will also support management of the organisation's media engagement, including social media presence. Closing date for applications is the 25th September 2018. Job Description
Manage Public Diplomacy events in accordance with the annual strategy. Manage the Public Diplomacy budget, coordinate reporting and preparation of the annual strategy.
Prepare written material including research reports, correspondence, talking points, speeches, strategic analyses, diplomatic notes and cables. Build and maintain networks and relationships in government, academia, diplomatic missions, think tanks, media groups and other non-government organisations.
Provide input into the Global Alumni website and assist in establishing and maintaining an alumni program.
Support our social media presence.
Act as the disability focal point as well as implement the Gender Action Plan.
Undertaking research and analysis on key political and economic issues in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Monitor foreign policy, security, human rights and justice developments in these countries and advise on significant developments.
Act as Research, Media and Trade Officer and the Consular and Passports officer when required.
