To implement its new regional programme on Youth Employment & Income in Agriculture as well as Food Security in Southern Africa, an International Development Organisation closely linked to one of the Embassies is looking for a Regional Programme Officer. Senior experience in the conceptualization and formulation of new programmes and initiatives is a core requirement as well as excellent writing skills required for high quality document submissions to the organisation's HQ abroad. Experience within at least 2 other SADC countries required. The deadline for applications is 3rd May 2019. Applications for this role have now closed. Job Description
Support the formulation, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects, programmes and contributions of the organisations "Agriculture and Food Security" portfolio in the SADC region
Elaborate and prepare entry and/or credit proposals for new projects
Efficient technical and political dialogue with stakeholders related to Youth Employment and Income in Agriculture as well as Food Security and Agriculture in the broader sense.
Manage the tender and procurement process in case of the organisation's project mandaate and other purchases including verifying fees and prices with partners and follow up to ensure all contracted obligations are completed.
Review and analyse operational and financial reports of partners/projects.
Monitoring-evaluation and planning processes: contribute to mid-year review, annual report and planning, context monitoring, as well as evaluation on-going cooperation strategy and planning of the new cooperation strategy
Design and implement vocational training for young people in Agriculture
Exposure to Youth Hubs, incubators and/or innovative financial instruments would be an asset.
Create Market Surveys, complete value chain analysis, small loans, credits and insurances
