As an employee of the Australian Government, the Security and Property Coordinator contributes to the fulfilment of the mission of the Embassy of Australia in Zimbabwe and represents its interests & values towards key stakeholders & partners in the region. Under the direction of the Senior Administration Officer, the Security and Property Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the security guarding contract and property issues within the Australian Embassy in Harare. Job Description
Ensure delivery of security services is in line with that specified in the security contract and oversee and manage security works for the chancery and residences
Source, operate, manage and maintain security related equipment and report any failures in security equipment, fencing, lighting, guarding and other areas
Management of property issues including liaising with services providers and landlords, property contract management and maintaining assets register and database.
Manage the procurement, repairs and inventory of chancery and residential furniture and fittings
Manage maintenance repairs at the chancery and for all leased residential properties
Manage and supervise the daily workload for gardening and cleaning staff
Review and update post security instructions and emergency evacuation procedures
Manage the security and property budget and expenses
Review and implement new systems and procedures to achieve efficiency gains

Property Security Maintenance or related

MS Office Suite and various in house
Equipment
PC and all security and property equipment
Knowledge Of
general finance and managing small budgets effectively
Skills To
to prepare business case analyses and ability to interpret policy regulations and guidelines and act on and provide related advice. High level written and oral communication skills is expected.
Ability To
to organize workloads, allocate resources effectively and set priorities while maintaining high quality and quantity of work. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy with minimal supervision
Personality
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and demonstrated maturity, flexibility, initiative, discretion and a commitment to working as part of a team.

Fluency in English and Shona.. This is a 1 year Fixed Term Contract. Potential for future contracts.
