The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is an local Malawian Executive role in the Group. The role reports into the Chief Operating Officer and is accountable to the local Board. The CEO is responsible for leading a high performing leadership team to deliver the organisations performance of towards achieving its overall strategy, growth and profitability agenda. Over 10 to 15 years of work experience in Banking or Finance industry inclusive of 5 to 7 years in Senior Executive Management position in a commercial Bank or Financial Institution

Job Description
Implementation and achievement of the groups current and future strategic direction set by the Group Board and Group Executive team, ensuring delivery of strategic and operational key results and outcomes across the organization
Being conversant with the operations of the institution, risks that the institution is exposed to, the state of internal controls, legal, regulatory and industry practice requirements of the institution, as well as current issues and policies affecting the financial sector
Providing the mandate and leadership for the in country management team to work in partnership across their operational groups, to lead and implement continuous improvements in business processes, leveraging digital transformation, and ensuring delivery of customer centric services
Identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Maintaining valuable relationships with public and private sector stakeholders to ensure the groups continuous expansion and business growth
Strategic Leadership - In collaboration with the Group resources, contributes to the development of the Strategy and Work Plan to ensure the groups profitable growth and success
Country Leadership and People Management - Provides credible, courageous and agile leadership to the Malawian management team, ensuring that they actively participate, contribute to the strategic thinking and development of the group, and demonstrate integrity, respect, moral ethics, sound judgement, and positive leadership, in all of their duties and interactions both internally and externally.
Financial Management
Business Development and Customer Centricity - Defends and grows the Groups share of market in the Digital Financial Services sector in Malawi, ensuring strategic competitiveness to achieve desired shareholder returns.

People Management - Ensure that the People function of the group in Malawi is effectively managed in terms of selection and appointment, reward and recognition, performance management and talent management in line with their People lifecycle
Stakeholder Engagement
Country Leadership and People Management - Provides credible, courageous and agile leadership to the Malawian management team, ensuring that they actively participate, contribute to the strategic thinking and development of the group, and demonstrate integrity, respect, moral ethics, sound judgement, and positive leadership, in all of their duties and interactions both internally and externally.
