In this position, you will be reporting to the Head of Operations and will be responsible for the overall oversight of all farming projects to ensure optimum levels of production are attained timorously. As the farm manager, you will carry out daily planning, organisation, supervision and administration of activities on commercial farms under the custody of the organisation. Job Description
Ensuring that farming projects are profitable and meet projected financial targets
Meeting with farm owners and providing advisory services, associated trainings and agronomical support to enhance optimum production levels
Planning farm management activities to ensure best practices and high quality production output
Directing and coordinating worker activities, including land preparation, irrigation, pest control, harvesting and grading
Coordinating activities with related departments as appropriate
Assisting in ensuring that all manpower plans related to farming projects are complied with
Carrying out information management, such as input & labour costs, production and farm management practices
Determining and recommending procedural changes in activities for greater efficiency and accuracy
Coordinating soil analysis to determine appropriate improvements for maximum production
Planning and directing development and production of hybrid plant varieties with high yield or disease and insect resistant characteristics
Establishing monthly and annual Budgets and Financial results including annual requirements for cash, labour, equipment, tools and supplies
